LRC leaders and concerned neighbors were invited to a MnDOT meeting last month. There was unanimous concern from the community about a proposed J-Turn at the Hwy 31 and Hwy 212 intersection (this is the intersection nearest LRC). To our surprise, the county responded and introduced a new plan for the Hwy 212/31 intersection.

As you can see, those coming to LRC will largely be unaffected. Those coming from the east will have a much longer exit ramp to a J-Turn in front of the church before exiting on Hwy 31 and the church driveway. This will add a turn and some distance, but it will be much safer (especially during rush hour).

The biggest change will be for those exiting LRC and needing to go west. They will need to travel one mile east to the next J-Turn before turning back west. This will add 2 miles to your drive west.

With increased and high-speed travel on Hwy 212, we believe this is the safest option for all. Construction will begin in June 2026 on four new J-turns along this section of Hwy 212.
