“Lost time is never found again.” –Benjamin Franklin.
“If someone had told me when I was twenty years old that life was very short and would pass — just like that — I wouldn’t have believed it. And if I tell you that, you don’t believe it either. I cannot get young people to understand how brief life is, how quickly it passes.” –Billy Graham
“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” –Psalm 90:12
Inconceivable! That’s the famous line uttered by the Sicilian criminal genius, Vizzini, in the cult classic The Princess Bride. It’s also the feeling I got as I looked over the results of my newly installed screen time app. How could I possibly have spent that much time on my phone during the day? Digging deeper, I realized it wasn’t any one thing. It was a couple minutes here. A couple minutes there. All my little phone sessions added up to a disporportionate amount of time. Or should I say, Inconceivable!
Scripture tells us to steward our time carefully. Life is so short. Each moment is an amazing gift of God! And we willingly give it up to the life-sucking Machine (There’s another Princess Bride reference for you all). I decided to limit my time to an hour a day. I don't want to spend any more time on my phone than that. How are you doing with screen time? What is God putting on your heart?
