December 3, 2024

To all the beloved of God at Living Rock,

We pray that God will fill your hearts and minds with His grace and peace and wonder this Christmas!

It is not often that we write a congregational letter. We are eager to write to you because we are filled with anticipation and hope at this time as we see the vision of our new ministry home under construction. We trust that all of you share in this hope for our church body as well. In just a few months, Living Rock will be crossing over from nearly 23 years of meetings in a school, to worshipping the Lord on our ground. We will be planted! We sense that the Lord is indeed with us and for us for His glory.

Here’s what the Lord has done in 2024:

  • January - After a discouraging search for financing, Orchard Foundation (the Alliance lending institution) offered us the best financing available at 6.75%.
  • March – Encouraging bids came back from our builder giving us hope to move forward.
  • April - The membership of Living Rock voted unanimously to build.
  • June-July – Living Rock Church broke ground on our 16-acre property and a massive amount of the earthworks was completed.
  • August-September - Permitting delays (ouch)!
  • December – The walls and trusses are nearing completion. Pray with us that our building will be covered and “dried in” in the next few weeks so construction can continue through the winter.

We praise the Lord that He has met all our financial needs to date. Every bill has been paid in full from years of His blessing and faithful stewardship.

We write today to ask you to pray and give to help us reach our financial goals for 2024. At this writing, we are $90,000 behind budget (with four weeks of regular offerings to go). Let us trust the Lord together for an outpouring of December giving, to wipe away this deficit and ensure that our building and ministry financing remain on track for 2025. Great giving now keeps our loan amount much less in the year ahead.

Thank you for your prayers, your service, and your giving to the Lord at Living Rock.
